About Yezidi Temple & Armavir Heritage Tour

Armavir Province holds some of Armenia's deepest religious layers side by side. We start at Sardarapat, a red-tufa memorial to the 1918 battle lined with winged bull statues, before reaching the standout of the day, Quba Mêrê Dîwanê, the world's largest Yezidi temple, its seven fluted domes and memorial sculpture park sitting quietly in Aknalich village. From there we visit Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual headquarters of the Armenian Apostolic Church, with lunch at Machanents House, a cultural center built around local cuisine and craft workshops. The day closes at Zvartnots, the 7th-century UNESCO cathedral ruins framed by views of Mount Ararat.
