Monasteries in the Mist

This is a day built entirely around Armenia's contrast, moving from the high volcanic shoreline of Lake Sevan into the lush, misty forests of Tavush, where three of the country's most striking monasteries wait quietly among the trees. We begin at Sevanavank, its black stone churches perched on a clifftop peninsula, then cross through a long tunnel into an entirely different Armenia, all dense oak and beech forest and famously humid, healing air. From there we wander Old Dilijan's restored 19th century street, pause at a tranquil forest lake, and finish among two of the country's most beautiful hidden monasteries, Haghartsin and Goshavank, both tucked so deep into the woods they feel like something from a story.
